Crossing Europe Film Festival Linz

April 25th, 2017 — April 30th, 2017

Since 2004, the CROSSING EUROPE Film Festival Linz has devoted its program each year to idiosyncratic, contemporary and socio-political auteur cinema from Europe. Over the 6 days the festival offers international film and press representatives and industry guests (over 700 accredited festival participants) and the local cinema audience a program with approximately 160 outstanding, hand-picked fiction films and documentaries. In Linz the festival audience has an opportunity to see high-quality European productions and cinematic highlights of the past festival season – suitably presented on the screen.
CROSSING EUROPE seeks to arouse pleasure in unconventional cinema from Europe and pleasure in a – sometimes radical or even sensuous – artistic engagement with the (life) world that surrounds us. Furthermore CROSSING EUROPE has always upheld the European idea, seeking especially for that reason to place current (socio-political) developments as well as problematic issues relevant to Europe in the foreground and with this program selection the festival seeks to do justice to the diversity of European cinema and consequently to that of the continent of Europe.
